Why is Lisbon called the city of light? Go on this self-guided walk across Alfama and Baixa (created by our co-founders, Kristina & Wendy!) to discover the answer yourself as you admire the city panorama from our favourite viewing points (miradouros). Fun location-specific riddles will guide you from one hidden spot to another, taking you through secret passages and picturesque pathways. You’ll learn local stories and experience the authentic charm. It’s all about the tiny details…
This playful walk across Lisbon’s vibrant neighbourhoods sharpens your senses and encourages you to appreciate the most wonderful – and often hidden – details around you. Whether you know Lisbon or just start exploring here, this experience gives you a perspective on discovery that will inspire your curiosity wherever you go next.
Pssst! If you have a bit more time, you can choose the extended version of this walk: Lisbon’s Historic Neighbourhoods: the best views, food & stories.

This experience was originally created by Secret City Trails co-founders, Kristina & Wendy but now maintained by our trail builders in Lisbon, Ines and Chris.

We know you’ll love our experiences, but if this is your first, rest assured - you can solve up to three riddles and still get a full refund, or in case of the Wonder Walks - all subscription plans come with one week free trial. See our T&Cs here.
